Miranda Richardson is a writer/director/artist from South Australia, specialising in fantasy and science fiction. When she’s not doing artsy things, she works as a part-time hospital ward clerk and an English language exam supervisor. Miranda enjoys Irish dancing, pole dancing, singing, drinking green tea and trying passionately to keep her small back garden alive.
Currently Miranda writes and manages Hail, a superhero comic about a woman who works as a law clerk by day, turns into glass by night, and somewhere in between deals with her anxiety. There will hopefully be some time for shorter comics and film work too for Miranda this year.
In 2015 she completed Honours in creative writing with a thesis based on superhero comics. Her critical studies focus on gender roles in Western and Japanese comics and metaphors of illness in fantasy.
